BARK, SET, GO! – WHAT A DAY!

sent by Rosie's Trust on 30/08/2026 at 21:09

WOW! What can we say?

A huge THANK YOU to every single person who came along and supported the very first Bark, Set, Go! Rosie’s Trust 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run today.

We are absolutely delighted to share that together we raised over £4,000 for Rosie’s Trust!

As this was our first time holding the event, we were blown away by the support, the fantastic turnout and the brilliant atmosphere.

Most of all, we need to say an enormous thank you to our AMAZING volunteers. Handing out flyers at parkruns, baking buns, putting up gazebo's, marshalling, photography, tail walking, sourcing raffle prizes, dealing with registration, prizegiving... The amount of work they put into making today happen was incredible.

Congratulations to our prize winners:

1st – Mark Smith – 19.15

2nd – Kyan Yarnell – 19.45

 3rd – Jamie Scullion  – 21.44

TEAM WINNERS – NO VEIN NO GAIN!

What an amazing effort – congratulations!

And a massive well done to all our participants who took part in the 1 Mile Fun Run. It was great to see people of all ages get involved.

We think a special mention also has to go to Karen Wilton, who didn't just win the 5K for the ladies with her dog – she had her cat in her backpack too!

Thankfully the rain stayed away and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did.

Rosie’s Trust supports people who are facing cancer treatment, end-of-life care, disability or the challenges that can come with older age, helping them to keep their pets by their side.

Imagine facing the prospect of having to give up your pet due to illness or disability.

Sadly, this year, we lost our core funding, which makes fundraising events like today more important than ever.

We would love to hear from businesses, corporate partners, community groups, clubs, schools or individuals who might consider fundraising for Rosie’s Trust or supporting our work.

**We know that a few people didn't manage to collect merchandise they had pre-paid for today. Don't worry, we'll get this posted out to you. We'll also arrange for any unclaimed raffle prizes to reach their winners as soon as possible.

**Well done to everyone who won a raffle prize, anyone not present for the draw will have their prize posted out in the next few days. g

Provisional results attached, please let us know if there are any amendments to be made.

Make sure to tag us in any photos or videos so we can share on our page. We will also be uploading our own photographs over the next few days, we can't wait to see how they came out.

Finally, THANK YOU. To our runners, walkers, children, dogs (and cat!), volunteers, supporters, partners, donors and everyone who helped make our first Bark, Set, Go! such a success.
