Rasus y Bannau

Rasus y Bannau (The Beacons Races) are three epic long‑distance mountain adventures starting and finishing in Brecon, following circular routes through the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. Technical, wild and beautifully brutal — these races are the ultimate test for mountain runners.

  • 🏔️ Three major mountain challenges 100km Ultra (+5,100m), 40 Mile Ultra (+2,850m), Marathon (+2,000m).

  • 🌄 Iconic summits & ridgelines Cribyn, Fan y Big, Carn Pica, Tor y Foel, Craig y Fan Ddu, Cefn Cul, Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Fan Fawr, Fan Llia, Fan Brycheiniog, Fan Gyhirych, Fan Nedd.

  • 🗺️ Full mountain experience Brecon → ridgelines → forests → valleys → waterfalls → summits → back to Brecon.

  • 🌧️ Self‑reliance & mountain skills GPS navigation, key junction markers, exposed terrain and potential night running for the ultras.

  • 🥤 Well‑supported checkpoints 7 (100km), 5 (40mi), 4 (Marathon) with water, energy drink, snacks, noodles, soup, sandwiches. Drop bag at CP5 for the 100km.

  • 🌙 Night running in the mountains Ultra runners must be comfortable with darkness, cold and remote terrain.

  • 🏅 Brecon finish line After Pen y Fan, a fast and glorious descent brings runners back into town.

  • 📸 Full race package GPS tracking, electronic timing, mountain safety teams, route marking, free race photography.

  • 🕒 Start times & cut‑offs 100km: Friday 17:30 → 30 hours 40mi: Saturday 07:30 → 16 hours Marathon: Saturday 08:30 → 15 hours

  • 🏠 Brecon as the event base Easy access to accommodation, parking and local facilities.

  • You may Refund yourself the entry cost less 25% until 03/11/2026.
  • You may Refund yourself the entry cost less 50% until 03/02/2027.

Credits

  • You may exchange your entry for a Credit at a cost of £0.00 until 03/11/2026.
  • You may exchange your entry for a Credit at a cost of 25% of your ticket price until 03/02/2027.
  • You may exchange your entry for a Credit at a cost of 50% of your ticket price until 03/03/2027.
  • You may exchange your entry for a Credit at a cost of 75% of your ticket price until 20/03/2027.
  • You will have 12 months (from the date of the event) to spend your credit. You may also use your credit to enter someone else.

Instalment Plan

  • You may pay in equal instalments up to a either a maximum set by the organizer or monthly up to one month before the event, whichever is less.
  • There is an additional fee of 1% + £0.50 for each instalment.
  • You are responsible for ensuring payments are made, missing payments may mean removal from the event and loss of any monies paid to date.
